Who is the Puffco Pivot for?
The Puffco Pivot is the smallest and most affordable way into Puffco's 3D chamber technology, sitting below the Proxy and the Peak in the range. It is a concentrate vaporizer only, so it is built exclusively for extracts and dabs, and it is consistently rated among the best ultra-portable concentrate vaporizers.
Sessions here are short and deliberate: a timed cycle of roughly 30 to 45 seconds on a small load. That format is what makes the pen shape possible. If you already own an eRig at home and want the same style of session in a jacket pocket or a hotel room, the Pivot fits that role neatly.
A 3D Chamber That Heats From Every Side
The heating wire sits inside the walls of the ceramic chamber, so heat closes in on the concentrate from the sides and the floor at once. Think of it as heat surrounding the concentrate from all sides, rather than a hotplate heating it only from below.
An onboard sensor watches the chamber temperature and corrects it continuously through the cycle. The chamber holds the setting you choose instead of overshooting it, which is what separates the Pivot from simple voltage-based pens that keep applying full power and burn what is left of the load at the end.
The practical result is steady, predictable extraction. Concentrate vaporises gradually across the cycle, so terpenes survive and a load stretches further than it would on a bottom-only coil.
Pocket-Sized Aluminium Build
The Pivot is about the size of a large pen or an oversized flash drive. It stands upright on a table, slips into a shirt pocket or a bag, and the matte anodised aluminium finish keeps fingerprints off.
There is no glass anywhere on the body, which makes it far more suited to bags and pockets than glass-bodied concentrate vapes. A dust cap covers the USB-C port on the bottom to keep pocket lint out.
The build is two pieces: the battery base and the chamber and mouthpiece assembly, joined by a twist-lock. The two halves only go together one way, so there is nothing to align and no way to assemble it incorrectly.
Airflow and Warm Vapour
Air enters through a small hole in the side of the mouthpiece, passes over the concentrate and travels straight up. There is no cooling insert and no airflow dial to set, so the draw stays the same every time.
The airflow is very well calibrated: open enough for an easy, gentle draw, with no whistling and no sudden air pockets. Keep your lips clear of that side hole, since covering it blocks the intake. For a larger draw, you can also cover and uncover the hole with a finger during the inhale.
The short, direct path means the vapour arrives warm. Running the higher presets through water with the Glass Adapter (sold separately) cools it noticeably.
Puffco designed the air path to enter the chamber at an angle, and the brand states this makes oil splashback around 20 times less likely than on comparable pens.
Four Presets, One Button
Single clicks step through four fixed temperatures, each shown by a colour on the light bar. Blue sits at 260°C for delicate extracts and the cleanest flavour, Green at 271°C for a balance of flavour and vapour, Red at 282°C for something stronger, and White at 307°C for the most power with less flavour.
Green is the setting most people end up using every day. Blue is the sensible starting point, since the top presets produce very intense vapour without water filtration. You can change the preset mid-cycle if you want to adjust partway through.
Boost Mode adds 15 seconds and about 10°C on top of whatever preset you are on. A popular approach is staying low and using Boost at the end to clear the last of the load while keeping the flavour of the cooler setting.
Small Loads Need Careful Handling
The 3D chamber holds around 0.1 g of concentrate, roughly a grain of rice, placed in the centre of the chamber floor. The chamber is deliberately small, and overloading it will only give you worse results, so take your time and keep the load modest.
The silicone mouthpiece flips open and stays tethered to the body, so it cannot be lost. When it is open, the cap partly overhangs the chamber opening, which is a good reason not to rush the load.
You can pre-load the chamber, snap the mouthpiece shut and pocket it with nothing spilling. If you want longer sets away from home, you can add a 3D Chambers 2-pack and pre-load spares, and a Hot Knife makes sticky concentrate slide off cleanly onto the chamber floor. Both are optional add-ons.
How to Use the Puffco Pivot
Everything runs from the single button under the light bar, and the bar tells you what is happening at each stage.
- Powering on: Hold the button for three seconds. The light bar lights up in the colour of your current preset.
- Loading: Flip open the mouthpiece and place about a grain of rice of concentrate in the centre of the chamber floor with the loading tool. Press the mouthpiece back down until it clicks.
- Choosing a temperature: Single-click to step through Blue, Green, Red and White.
- Heating: Double-click to start the cycle. The light bar fills as it heats, which takes 15 to 20 seconds. Press and hold to cancel.
- Inhaling: Two flashes and two vibrations mean it is ready. Hold the Pivot upright and draw slowly and gently. Expect two or three substantial draws from one load.
- Extending: Double-click again once it is at temperature for Boost Mode, adding 15 seconds and about 10°C.
- Finishing: The cycle ends on its own and the Pivot drops into standby with the light bar empty. Wipe the chamber with a cotton swab while it is still warm.
The body and mouthpiece do get hot during consecutive sessions, so a pause between cycles is worth building into your routine. After roughly four back-to-back cycles the light bar shows red for five seconds and waits until things cool down.
Battery and Charging in Under an Hour
The Pivot gives you 12 to 15 sessions per charge on the lowest setting, so most owners charge it once a day or less, much like a phone. Higher presets and frequent Boost use bring that number down, since each boost counts as an extra cycle.
A full charge takes about 45 minutes, and ten minutes of charging gives you enough power for one or two sessions when you are short on time. A triple-click shows the battery level: green for full, orange for half, red for low. Leaving the Pivot in standby between sessions costs very little charge.
The USB-C port sits recessed in the bottom of the base under a dust cap, so it charges lying down. The battery is internal and not replaceable.
The box has a USB-C to USB-C cable but no wall plug. You can add a USB-C Fast Charger (45W) to cover that gap and reach the full 45-minute charge time.
Cleaning Takes About Thirty Seconds
The routine is one habit: wipe the chamber with a cotton swab in a circular motion while it is still warm, not hot. Four swabs come in the box. Residue lifts off easily when warm, and if you forget, a short cycle on Blue loosens it again.
For a deep clean, twist the chamber and mouthpiece assembly off the base and let it cool fully. Submerge the 3D chamber in 90%+ isopropyl for 20 minutes, then stand it upside down until it is completely air-dry. Never rinse it with water.
The silicone mouthpiece soaks in isopropyl for 20 to 30 minutes, then gets rinsed with water and dried fully. Clean the base and thread block only with a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl; never rinse or submerge them. Everything must be bone dry before you put it back together.
The silicone mouthpiece is the part that needs attention most often, since it collects residue and lint. A Mouthpieces 2-pack is available as an add-on if you want a second one to alternate with.
Pivot vs Proxy
The Proxy is Puffco's modular concentrate vaporizer, built around a self-contained core that drops into interchangeable glass attachments. It has a larger chamber than the Pivot, a glass vapour path for cooler draws, and it suits longer or shared sessions better.
The Pivot is far easier to carry in a pocket and far simpler to operate. One button, four presets and a twist-lock top mean there is nothing to assemble, and the aluminium body has no glass to worry about in a bag. It also gives similar battery life from a much smaller body, and it is the more affordable way into Puffco's 3D chamber technology.
Pick the Proxy for bigger loads and a glass ecosystem at home. Pick the Pivot when the session needs to fit in a jacket pocket.
Pivot vs Peak
The Peak is the eRig that established the category: a countertop glass rig with built-in water filtration, a much larger chamber and a session format made for extended or shared use. Its cooling and vapour path are in a different class.
The Pivot brings the same family of chamber technology into a pen. It heats in 15 to 20 seconds, times its own cycle, has no water to fill or empty, and no glass to break. When you do want filtration, the Glass Adapter turns it into a small water-filtered setup on any compatible water pipe.
The Peak is designed to stay in one place at home, while the Pivot is designed to be carried with you; for many owners the two work together rather than one replacing the other.
Recommended Accessories
Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. These are the add-ons that make the most difference to how the Pivot fits into your day.
USB-C Fast Charger (45W): The wall plug the Pivot needs, since only a cable comes in the box.
Magnetic USB-C Adapter: Stays in the Pivot's charging port and lets the cable snap on magnetically, sparing the port from daily plugging and unplugging.
Travel Case: Keeps the Pivot, the Hot Knife, your jars and your cleaning supplies together in four moulded compartments with a magnetic lid. It is made to be carried in a bag rather than in a pocket.
New Hot Knife: Heated ceramic tip that makes sticky concentrate slide off in about three seconds, and its silicone end is the correct tool for pushing the chamber out of the mouthpiece.
Glass Adapter with 3D Chamber: Run the Pivot through a water pipe with 10 mm or 14 mm joints for noticeably cooler vapour, and it brings its own chamber so your daily one stays fitted.
3D Chambers (2-pack): Pre-load them at home and swap with a twist, so you never handle concentrate away from the house.
Mouthpieces (2-pack): Soak one in isopropyl while the other is fitted, so the Pivot is never waiting to dry.
Warranty Information
