Who is the Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra for?
The Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra is the smallest vaporizer the German brand makes, and it sits at the more affordable end of the range. It is consistently well rated among compact portables, mostly for how much it delivers at that size.
That pocket-sized body keeps the vapour path short and direct. A short path means clean flavour, and there is very little to keep clean. Vapour does arrive warm above about 200 °C, but around 190 °C it stays comfortable. The included capsule system lets you pre-load capsules at home and carry one ready to go.
Small Enough to Vanish in Your Hand
At 5.0 × 2.8 × 8.1 cm and 141 g, the FX Mini Ultra fits a trouser pocket beside your phone. When you hold it in a closed fist, only the glass mouthpiece shows. It feels dense for its size, which comes across as solid build.
The matte soft-touch finish is warm and grippy, with gold-plated rings around the mouthpiece and a small round window into the chamber. To anyone a few metres away it looks much like a normal e-cigarette.
The silicone dust cap that comes in the box slips over the mouthpiece for pocket carry. It keeps lint out of the glass and traps the smell between sessions.
True Convection with a Titanium Chamber
The FX Mini Ultra heats by convection. The element warms the air as you inhale. That hot air rises up through the load like warm air through a vent, so nothing sits pressed against a hot metal wall.
The titanium chamber has a rounded shape, so air moves around the whole load. The air path is sealed from the inlet all the way in, so every bit of air you pull passes over the heating element first.
The FX Mini Ultra heats up in about 25 seconds, roughly the time it takes to grind a load. Because the herbs are only heated by the air you draw through them, they can sit between draws without cooking.
Clean Flavour and an Effortless Draw
The vapour path is almost entirely glass. A full-length borosilicate glass mouthpiece runs the whole inner path, with only about 8 mm of silicone along the way, so flavour comes through clean and individual herbs stay distinguishable.
The draw itself is one of the most praised parts of this vape. There is almost no resistance, even with a full chamber, so you can inhale slowly and softly.
You can also pull the glass mouthpiece out a little to lengthen the air path, which takes some of the heat out of the vapour at higher settings.
Temperature Control to the Single Degree
The FX Mini Ultra runs from 100 °C to 220 °C in 1 °C steps. You are not limited to a handful of preset steps, and it remembers your last setting. The 0.66" OLED shows the set temperature, the live temperature, the battery level and the session countdown at once.
Lower settings between 160 °C and 190 °C preserve lighter compounds and give the most flavour-forward draws. Between 195 °C and 220 °C the load extracts more completely in fewer minutes. Many users start near 190 °C and step up towards the end.
The session timer can be set to 3, 4 or 5 minutes. When it expires, the vape vibrates and shuts off. The display cannot be flipped, so it only reads the right way up when you hold the vape upright.
If you like running above 200 °C, the glass bubbler (sold separately) is the accessory to add. It slides into the same socket as the glass mouthpiece and cools the vapour through a small amount of water.
Chamber, Capsules and the Keyring Caddy
The titanium chamber takes a loose fill of ground herbs. Fill it full but do not compress it, and wipe the rim before closing so the silicone seal seats properly. Pull the magnetic mouthpiece holder straight up out of its guide rail; slide it back in until it snaps into place.
Two steel dosing capsules and a keyring caddy are included in the box. Each capsule holds about 0.1 g when full, though the manual suggests filling to around halfway so air can move. Pre-load them at home and clip the caddy to your keys. A swap then takes a moment.
Capsules also keep resin off the chamber walls, so deep cleaning is needed far less often. You can expand the setup with extra herb capsules, a filling tool for loading them without spills, and a second capsule container, all sold separately.
How to Use the Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra
Three buttons handle everything. Five quick clicks of the top one switch the vape on and off. Here is a full session from start to finish.
- Loading: Grind your herbs, lift the mouthpiece holder straight out of its rail, and fill the chamber loosely to the top. Or drop a pre-filled capsule straight in.
- Closing: Wipe the chamber rim clean. Slide the mouthpiece holder back until the magnet snaps home, then push the glass mouthpiece down until it seats into the lower rubber ring.
- Powering on: Press the top button five times. The screen lights up and the vape gives a short buzz.
- Setting: Adjust the temperature in 1 °C steps with the up and down buttons. Hold the top button for about two seconds to set the session length to 3, 4 or 5 minutes.
- Heating: Wait about 25 seconds. When it reaches temperature, the indicator light turns from red to blue and the vape vibrates.
- Inhaling: Hold the vape by the sides so your fingers stay clear of the air inlet on the bottom. Take two short priming puffs, then draw slowly and softly.
- Finishing: The vape vibrates and switches off when the timer runs out. If you finish early, five clicks turn it off and save battery. Let the top cool for a moment before you lift the mouthpiece and empty the chamber.
Battery and Charging Between Sessions
The 1600 mAh battery gives around 4 to 6 sessions per charge. That suits a day of normal use rather than a full day of hiking. The cell is built into the body and is not designed to be swapped by the user.
Charging runs over USB-C, about 30% faster than the previous FX Mini. A full charge takes roughly 90 minutes. The port sits on the bottom, next to the air inlet. Pass-through charging is supported, so you can carry on vaping while it is plugged into a charger, a laptop or a power bank.
The top of the body and the capsule inside get noticeably hot after a full session. Let it cool for a moment before you pop the capsule out. A 120 cm USB-A to USB-C cable is included, though no wall adapter comes in the box. Any USB-A phone charger rated at 7 W or above will work.
All the Residue Ends Up on the Glass
The glass mouthpiece runs the entire inner path, so residue collects on a part you can pull out and wash. The black housing inside stays free of residue. Rinse the glass in isopropyl alcohol every few sessions and let it dry fully.
After each session, once the chamber has cooled, give it a quick clean with the wooden brush from the box. Its flat end doubles as a packing tool. The mouthpiece screen collects fine particles fastest. Whenever the draw starts to tighten, pop it out with the tweezers and soak it.
The sealed internal air channel is not meant to be flushed through. Keep the screen, the glass and the chamber rim clean and the airflow stays open.
It is worth keeping a few spare wear parts in a drawer. The silicone ring with mouthpiece screen and spare mouthpiece screens are both available separately, and a replacement mouthpiece covers the day a glass piece meets a tiled floor.
FX Mini Ultra vs ÄRiS Ultra
The ÄRiS Ultra is Wolkenkraft's mid-range convection portable, a larger body with a longer air path and the same titanium chamber design. It produces clearer, softer vapour with more depth of flavour. It also has a built-in stirring tool and is easier to clean throughout.
The FX Mini Ultra answers with the most compact body Wolkenkraft makes. It pulls remarkably freely for its size, while the larger model trades a little openness for a longer, more directed path. In terms of how much each one extracts per session, the two are closely matched.
If you want a longer, cooler path and simpler full cleaning at home, the ÄRiS Ultra earns its extra size. If you want a vape you can carry everywhere without noticing it, the FX Mini Ultra is the specialist.
FX Mini Ultra vs XMax V4 Pro
The XMax V4 Pro is a compact, value-focused portable known for offering enthusiast features at a low price. It offers an airflow dial, a user-replaceable battery, a glass water pipe adapter in the box, and on-demand heating.
The FX Mini Ultra counters with five years of warranty cover, far longer than is typical in this class. Its titanium chamber feeds a full-length glass mouthpiece, so residue lands on a part you can pull out and wash. Single-degree control from 100 °C to 220 °C, a live OLED readout and pass-through charging complete the picture.
The V4 Pro is the pick if an airflow dial, swappable cells and bundled glass matter most. The FX Mini Ultra is the pick for a smaller body, a titanium and glass path, and five years of cover behind it.
Recommended Accessories
Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. Here is a short guide to what works well alongside the FX Mini Ultra.
Glass Bubbler: Adds water filtration for cool, comfortable draws at 200 °C and above, and it slides into the mouthpiece socket without tools.
Steel Capsule for Herbs: Fill several at home in one go, so an evening out needs no grinder.
Capsule Container: The included caddy holds two capsules; a second container carries enough pre-loaded capsules for a full day.
Filling Tool: Gets ground herbs into small capsules without scattering them across the table.
Steel Capsule for Concentrates: For the occasional session with waxes and oils. It keeps sticky material off the titanium chamber.
Quartz Capsule for Concentrates: The quartz glass version for anyone who notices a metallic taste from steel capsules.
TightVac - MiniVac 0.12 L: An airtight pocket container that keeps ground herbs fresh and traps the smell while you carry them.
USB-C Fast Charger (45W): The vape ships without a wall adapter. This compact GaN charger keeps it topped up at home or on a trip.
Dust Cap: A spare is worth having - it is small and easy to lose, and it is what makes pocket carry clean and quiet.
Mouthpiece Screens: Keeping two screens in rotation means you never wait for one to finish soaking.
Half-Black Mouthpiece: A replacement in glass with a darker finish, useful if the original is dropped or broken.
Full Mouthpiece Set: The complete assembly, for a colour change or a replacement that goes beyond the glass.
